It was with great pleasure that I took the position of Foundation Governor at Crayke School. Having been a teacher for over twenty years, I have taught throughout the primary age range and in many counties. As a classroom teacher my areas of responsibility have been very varied from Art and Design, History, Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator and Foundation Stage/Nursery co-ordinator and many others. I have an Early Years Specialism from Manchester University and a background in Special Needs teaching, spanning from nursery, to adults with learning difficulties.
As a mother of three boys and a foster carer for the past four years, my interests have mainly been centred on the family. Although I miss teaching and especially the children, fostering has been a great challenge and source of enjoyment. We have lived in Crayke for six years and enjoy village life. As a Christian I feel the links between the children, school, church and the wider community are of great value and should be encouraged to the full.
As well as my involvement with the Church and the PCC, I have also served on the Gala committee in Crayke. When time, work and family allows, I enjoy the arts, practice homeopathy and enjoy riding my horse and looking after our dogs.
