CHASA Christmas Card Project

As mentioned in a previous ping, every year Crayke pupils have the opportunity to design their own Christmas/ thank you cards, through a company called Arts Projects for Schools (APFS).
Not only is it a great way for the kids to get creative and see their work in print, it also allows you to send original Christmas/thank you cards personally designed by your child/ren.

An artwork sticker and info flyer will be in your child’s book bag today so please look out for them!  The sticker has to be completed in black ink and stuck on the back of your child’s artwork.

The artworks will need to be dropped off at school no later than Tuesday 31st October (week after half term)
Here’s a reminder of the guidelines from APFS to help with the creations!
1. Artworks can be created on white or coloured paper or card and must be A4 in size
2. Artworks may be portrait or landscape
3. Bold colours work well as does collage (maximum depth of 5 mm )
4. APFS advises against the use of pearlised paint, metallic or light reflective material such as foil and fluorescent highlighter pens and glitter as these do not always reproduce as well as one might expect
5. Black backgrounds do not reproduce particularly well.
6. All pastel art works will need to be fixed before sending to APFS.
7. Please do not place artworks into plastic wallets.
8.. Please note due to copyright APFS cannot reproduce pictures from books, magazines, the Internet or school photographs produced by an outside agency without permission from the owner of the image.  Collaged artworks made from pictures cut from magazines are allowed in most circumstances. If in doubt please seek advice from APFS before sending in the artwork.

Another ping will go out at later date re how to order the cards online.
Every purchase of printed cards/ wrapping paper etc will provide a donation for Crayke School.

Happy designing!!
