Please find below a list of costumes/props needed for our production of ‘Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits’.
Plea for donations of props:
If anyone has any of these items hidden in the depths of your home, being able to use/borrow them would be much appreciated;
- 4 spears
- 1 x rubber chicken
- Gong and mallet
- Fake beards
- Plastic coins
- 1 x plastic piggy bank
- Large plastic ruby jewel
- Plastic garden gnome
- Bucket
- Any ‘Arabian’ paraphernalia
CLASS 3 – THE CHOIR (Arabian citizens)
- T-shirt/top – desert/sandy colours – beige, rust, brown etc…
- Bottoms e.g. leggings, shorts etc.. – desert/sandy colours – beige, rust, brown etc…
- Ladies scarf to wear as a sash or headscarf.
ALL CHILDREN IN CLASS 4 TO WEAR CANVAS PUMPS/PLIMPSOLLS/BALLET PUMPS IF POSSIBLE as moving about on the stage is noisy!
****Harem pants/ culottes/ loose trousers and a plain (we can turn inside out) black or white t-shirt will form the base of most costumes***
Bandits:
- Base costume as above but preferably in black/red
- We will provide red sashes/headscarves
Dusty and Sandy:
- Stripy t-shirt
- Stripy socks
- Pale (white/beige) trousers/shorts/leggings
- A pair of braces (if possible…)
Sultan:
- Base costume as above but preferably in black
- Fancy waistcoat (if possible…)
- We will provide a gold turban
- Plastic jewellery
Grand Vizier:
- Colour scheme: purple and silver
- Base costume as above but preferably in purple/silver – we have the trousers already!
- Ladies scarf – purple/silver
- We will provide purple scarf and make her hat.
Genie:
- Genie costume provided already.
- Sunglasses
Alakazam:
- All white if possible – can be like base costume (harem pants/top) or even a suit – he needs to stand out from the rest of the cast!!
Princess Satsuma
- Wearing Mrs Chandler’s Sari
- Princess Jasmine type accessories…
Citizens:
- Loose fitting clothes e.g. oversized shirts in desert colours desert/sandy colours – beige, rust, brown etc…
- Ladies scarf to wear as a sash or headscarf.
Flossy Baba:
- As citizens or base costume in bright colours
- Shawl
- Headscarf
- Apron
Ali Baba:
- Base costume in bright colours
- Waistcoat
- We will provide the fez!
Guards:
- Base costume preferably in all black
- We will provide gold sashes/headscarves
Handmaidens:
- Base costume as above – can be colourful
- Ladies scarf to wear as a sash
- Bangles for wrists
Sheiks:
- Dressed as citizens but need to add..
- A colourful waistcoat
- Sunglasses
- Plastic gold jewellery
Humphrey:
- ‘Camel’ coloured top and bottoms – we will provide mask and tail!!
- Boo Boo the monkey:
- Brown coloured top and bottoms – we will provide mask and tail
- Purple or silver waistcoat if possible…
