Can you believe it’s already a week since we broke up for the summer holidays? Staff have been super busy in school this week getting things ready for September and developing dedicated reading areas in each classroom and the Learning Hub. It might still be July, but we are already looking forward to welcoming you all back for the new term – here’s a sneak preview of the main entrance!
It was great to visit Easingwold Library yesterday to discuss our plans for the Year of Reading and there are some exciting developments to share in the Autumn. In the meantime, I am delighted that over 25% of children have already signed up for the Summer Reading Challenge! The incentive of a prize for the year group with the highest percentage of completers is hopefully helping! Children who will be starting in Reception in September are also very welcome to take part in this challenge. Please ask for certificates to be sent to school so we can celebrate everyone together in a special assembly in the Autumn Term.
