Ankers, Fiona – Co-opted Governor

As a parent of a child at Crayke School, I am excited about my role as a co-opted governor.    We have lived in Easingwold since 2021, having moved from York, and feel fortunate to be part of a thriving community.

Having had a varied career, I’ve worked in children’s social care within a local authority for the last fifteen years alongside an independent adoption agency for the last three.  I know the difference positive school attendance can make for a child.  With a strong leadership team, Crayke provides stability and excellent outcomes in a caring and attentive community.  The environment is one in which all children, regardless of socio-economic background, race, ethnicity,  special educational needs or disabilities have an equal opportunity to achieve their potential.  I am proud to be part of the governing body to support the school’s aspirations for all our children going forward.

I will challenge as needed and be an active, engaged governor, who listens whilst taking opportunities to expand my knowledge skills and experience.  I look forward to getting to know more parents and carers and contributing to the continued success of Crayke for all our children and young people for the benefit of our wider communities as they grow.
