Class 4’s Evacuation Experience Trip

Following Class 4’s evacuation experience trip we wrote thank you letters to NYMR; I would love to share their response with you:

Hi Lauren,

I just wanted to say a huge thank you to all the children for the wonderful letters that they sent me following your visit to the NYMR. I can only apologise that it’s taken so long for me to receive them- this is partly due to me having some leave shortly after your visit and also being part time!  But what a welcome back. It was brilliant to hear how much they had engaged with & remembered of the on board session and how much they seem to have enjoyed their whole visit up and down the line. It was great to hear that they felt the experience made this moment of history more real for them, and to hear that some of them had enjoyed telling their families about the experience. I will of course pass on their thanks to the Goathland Station Tea Room as well  and let Karen there see the kind comments made( very glad you got out of the cold!).

I would like to make a display of their letters on our Education Noticeboard  in the foyer of the Learning Department if you are happy for me to do that? I can remove the children’s names if you would prefer. If  you are happy for me to display their letters it would be great to put a couple of photos from the visit (if you have any we can use) with the letters.

I would also like to quote from one of the letters for an article in our periodical Moors Line where I will be reporting on the work of the Education Dept- again with name removed and only with your permission.

Hope you have a good rest of term, and thanks once again for taking the time to send me the letters, it really is very much appreciated!

Best wishes

Helena
