Update 17.4.20

Good afternoon to all our lovely children and families,

We hope that you have had a brilliant Easter holiday, filled with sunshine and chocolate!

Following last night’s announcement regarding the continuation of the lockdown arrangements, we are now implementing plans for home learning for the next three weeks.  These will be posted on the website on Monday.  We have adapted some materials from the Robin Hood Multi Academy Trust, who very kindly drafted comprehensive learning packs and made them freely available to all to amend for their settings.  We have tried to make these as accessible for all as possible.

There is a weekly theme for all classes, which should help if you have children of different ages in school.  All packs follow the same format, with a selection of maths, reading, spelling/phonics and writing tasks followed by some topic type ideas.  We have tried to include a balance of different types of activities to suit different abilities and interests – not all involve screens!

The idea is that you and your child pick one of each of the activities each day during the week – activities can be repeated if your child particularly enjoys them. Should you need any guidance or have any queries relating to the learning materials please do get in touch with the class teachers in the first instance:

Mrs Helfferich – class1@crayke.n-yorks.sch.uk

Mrs Dobson – class2@crayke.n-yorks.sch.uk

Mrs Rayner – class3@crayke.n-yorks.sch.uk

Mrs Chandler – class4@crayke.n-yorks.sch.uk

We are supplementing these resources for children in Classes 2, 3 and 4 with Purple Mash “2Dos” – children are familiar with these.  They can be submitted online and the class teachers will respond to them within the school week.

Mrs Rayner has put together spelling lists for the half term which will also be uploaded on Monday.

We will continue to update the school website with different ideas of activities you can be doing at home on a regular basis and we will of course share photographs of things you have been up to during the week in Friday’s Wall of Fame post!

Have a lovely weekend and we will be in touch again on Monday.

Best wishes,
