On Thursday 5th March, we will be celebrating World Book Day! This year, we will be celebrating books with the theme of ‘adventure.’
With an adventure themed book or poem in mind, we are asking the children to design a mask to wear on the day that will give us clues about their book. We have provided every child with a simple template. They can decorate it or change the design of the mask completely, if they wish. All of the children will be in full school uniform on the day, but need to bring in their mask and adventure book/poem to share.
This could be a fiction adventure story, a non-fiction book about a jungle or desert (for example,) or even an adventure themed poem. The aim is for the children to find something that really inspires them and is a book or poem that they enjoy!
In the afternoon, children will be taking part in a ‘Book-Swap and Drop.’ Please also send your child in with one book for them to exchange with another child. (If you don’t have any, we will still make sure that every child gets a book to enjoy from our ‘Book Swap Box’ in the main entrance.)
Many thanks for your continued support,
Mrs L. Rayner
