I have been a governor at Crayke School since 2021. During this time, it has been wonderful to see how the school has grown, adapted and changed to meet the challenge of educating and supporting children over that time. As a parent who has had 4 children at the school (2 have left and 2 are still in the school), I have always been impressed by everything the school does. The dedication of the staff to teaching the children, the vision and ethos of the school are the bedrock of its success. The promotion of individual growth, happiness and friendship as well as the importance of community gives each child the opportunity to thrive at what they are good at and I hope to be able to contribute to the continued strength and success of the school as a governor and as Chair of the Property, Personnel and Finance Committee.
I have spent the last 20 years working in the Commercial Real Estate advisory sector and set up my own business in 2021 supporting and advising a wide range of clients and based in Boroughbridge. Before that, I worked at the international real estate group JLL in London and Leeds and was responsible for advising pension funds on their commercial property investments and developments. As part of this, I helped with large scale community developments and these always involved the construction of schools. Schools play a vital role in building and sustaining local communities.
Crayke School sits at the heart of the community and the opportunity of contributing positively to community life, and its future, is what motivates me.
