I would like to say thank you to all those who generously sponsored us. Over £700 has now been raised – the final total will be split between CHASA (Crayke Home and School Association) & St. Monica’s Hospice in Easingwold.
Our challenge took us into the heart of the breath taking Western Highlands in order to conquer the highest peak in the British Isles set at 1343m (4409ft) above sea level.
We set off at 7am on Wednesday 9th August; we had to take a selfie as no one else had decided to set off as early!
The stunning views of the highlands were with us all the way and provided a fantastic backdrop. This helped to distract us from the midges and the challenging nature of the trek.
We arrived at the summit at 12pm – the temperature was below 0°C! The summit only receives about 60 days of sunshine every year, so we were fortunate to catch a glimpse before making our decent.
Well done the Buttery family! Congratulations. What an achievement.!
Fantastic all – well done – what an achievement
